Root Rooting questions

Hello there, I was wondering what the benefits of rooting my phone would be. I know that it allows me to get rid all the bloatware on my phone but what else does it allow me to do? Are there a ton of awesome apps that it allows me to use? If they upgrade the fascinate to 2.3 like I read a few articles about will it mess up the OTA upgrade? Also can I unroot it if I want to. If something were to happen to the phone making it usable will they be able to tell I rooted it?

#1 it gives you superuser access. From this you can run custom Roms, kernels, and themes.

#2 99% chance we will not skip 2.2 and go to 2.3, that being said just rooting your phone will not keep you from getting an OTA. Its things that people do after rooting that keep from getting an OTA, example pushing clockwork recovery...witch is a must to do the custom things. But OTA updates can be a big risk of bricking your phone. So its a good thing to be rooted with cwr to just get a leaked version from a dev.

#3 Yes you can unroot

#4 Yes your provider can tell that you have rooted. But if you ask questions 99.9% of "bricked" phones can be fixed.
