Root Rooting Questions

I don't wish to be picky but to use apps2sd with teppics ROM you will need to flash his apps2sd script after flashing his ROM. It's available as an attachment at the bottom of his first post on page 1 of his ROM's thread on XDA (here) along with other mods & tweaks.

Thanks, is this installed the same way as ROM's etc. Place on SD card, boot into recovery and select the a2sd .zip and install it??

yes flash the zip.

You can create a flashable zip of titanium from the menu too by the way.

Your APN should be picked up automatically. If its not, just use WiFi instead if available...

Thanks again, very helpful people on here.

Creating a .zip of Titanium con be done on the menu of the recovery s/w or somewhere else?

All done, Titanium restored all backed up stuff, sms backup successful as well. All sync'd with PC to. Happy days.

Loads of internal memory available but not sure how to access ap2sd+. The normal 'move to sd card' option appears to be available but some apps are still not given the option to move.

Also. market is not updating to google play? Need to look into that.

Very pleased so far, alot of that is down to your help. Thanks again.

Teppic's ROM will not update the market, you'll need to download Google play from XDA.

When you've reread the section Suroot refers to you will see that what you've done with the apps2sd script & the SD partition is creating extra "internal" space. Apps all load into this partition. Data will still be in the phones actual internal partition though. No need to move apps to SD like before. Download Quick System Info to check its working. You'll see ext space used and available.

Enjoy your new phone!

Dont suppose you could enlighten me on how to download and install Google Play from XDA. This is getting a bit beyond my abilities.

The phone is playing up a bit also, markets is forcing a close and I have to reboot to access markets again. Also some apps do not seem to load up reliably.

Hmm....

Ok so you wiped data before flashing. What did you restore with titanium? It's not wise to restore system data as it can cause these kind of problems.

I would suggest another wipe and then restore missing apps with data from the titanium menu.

You're not missing anything with your version of the market. Works as well as play. I think there are a number of threads here about play. AFAIK you download the apk file to SD & install with Android running. Perhaps someone can advise. I'm still using the old market that you have.

OK, I have found a copy of Play on XDA eventually. There seem to be loads of false download links around.

Anyway, it is working and replaced Markets.

Also downloaded Quick System Info and this is showing A2SD working.

All looks good.

Just saw your post after posting mine. The ROM did a wipe automatically (so it said anyway - Teppic74) so it was a clean install. Using Titanium I only installed missing apps so no old system data.

Seems to be OK now tho, will keep an eye on it.

Cheers,
