Rooting Samsung Galaxy SII 4g

I know this has probably been answered but..... for some reason researching the process for this phone is confusing the h%$& out of me.

Let me qualify and go on record I'm not a 'complete newb' at this. I've been able to successfully root multiple lg optimums v's and a galaxy 2 tablet.

All I want to do is root this phone and keep it as stock as possible. I just want to be able to over clock it and change governors. It seems like theres an exhaustive list of ways to do this but many of those ways will mess with the 4g....

I imagine I will need to just flash a kernel and then super user...?

Can someone tell me what I need to do in order to achieve this (assuming I upgrade to jelly bean) and not lose 4g or anything else?

any help is appreciated.

So just to be clear, this works if I was upgraded to jelly bean through boost mobile?

or is there not even a need to do that using this method?

and this won't screw up the 4g?

the phone was delivered to me today, so hopefully it will make more sense when its in my possession.

sorry for all the questions (that were probably answered at some point) but as I've said, I've rooted a samsung galaxy tab 2 before but don't remember it being as daunting as this phone.

Just use this method, it is the safest way to root... no it won't screw up 4G.
