Root Rooting side affects

Rocklee99

Newbie
1. If i root and use the regular sprint rom rooted, do i loose any abilities on the phone like the market or something?

2. Will the root stick after a reboot? and can i remove the root?

and when i root with the stock img. do i still keep better battery life or does that become worse?

and do i still get to use 4g? and wifi? and bluetooth?

why do you want t root your phone? just askin

Allows for further customization. ROMS, Radios, FPS Fixes, Installation of JIT into eclair and other fun stuff. As long as you are careful, nandroid backup before you do anything and research whatever you are about to flash you will be ok.

To get any custom roms to work you need to Nand unlock as well. There is simple root/nand unlock over at XDA.

If you are happy with your phone the way it is then I would just leave it, but others out there like to mess around with this stuff.

This kind of piggybacks on OP's question. Are there some programs on the market that won't work on a rooted device? I only ask because I have been unable to redownload MLB at bat 2010 since I rooted (along with a few other apps). Is this the norm, or am I missing something? Thanks.
