Root Rooting troubles for LG G PAD F7.0 (sprint)

I've been looking since I bought this stupid thing, but nothing seems to work for it since it came out of the box on android 5.0. I've tried towelroot, stumproot, purpledrake. I would try more methods but most of them only offer the .exe and I run ubuntu 14.04. come to think of it I'm not even sure I know how to install the drivers on ubuntu since they all come as .exe as well. just a link and a small explanation would be nice. I'm tired of finding a result that says method X works for the G3 so it should work and then not explain, how or why, or how to even go about it since the source material only goes over the other device.

Am I just really bad at google or is my device already forgotten and dead?

I don't think you need drivers in Ubuntu. The most promising looks to be running this...http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951 I know this is an .exe, would you be able to run it through wine emulator?
If this doesn't work / don't want to try that way all I can suggest would be try Kingroot or Kingoroot root apk. If you do go down this rout though, be careful and do some research, I don't know how much I trust these methods and you have to mess about after to get proper SU on device, but I have seen lot's of people have success and are happy. And yeah, there's no such thing as usb drivers in Linux, OS X, or any *nix.

Instructions to get adb and fastboot for Linux or if you're running an AMD processor, just download the Mini-SDK -

If you can find a purely adb/fastboot method that will get you set up. However, I've typically seen only Windows solutions for LG.

I am 100% not capable of running wine on my own and I don't want to try and run a root method under it either

I can't find any methods for my device. I doubt the sdk would help me at all until then

well I decided to gamble on it and use the king root method then remove all it's bullshit with supersume and now I have root but no SU binary or recovery.


scratch that. it didn't even give me root access. waste of time and I can't believe it's still posted on XDA with the amount of bad in it.

wow, just tried rooting my G2 with purple drake and IOroot and neither worked. IOroot wouldn't even see the phone which it's intended for. I guess I need to start buying brand new phones to get rooted again

Try kingroot a few times before giving up then use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joeykrim.rootcheck to check you're rooted before using Super Sume

I tried it about 3 times. kingroot said success so I assumed it actually worked. like, it failed a few times on reboot and what not
