Rooting / Update question

Hi,

My T-mobile F6 should be in the mail either when I get home tonight or tomorrow. My first plan of attack is to unlock, update firmware to H, and root. However, if we can believe everything we read there will be a Kit KAt update coming soon. Would it be better to hold off on rooting until the KK update? OR will KK prevent rooting with the current methods?
