Root Rooting with an OTA Update

Hey guys, how are ya? I hope y'all don't mind all my questions lately, but I read that a new OTA update is coming for the EVO. When a new update comes from Sprint, should I wait for a rooted version of it? If so, how do I apply it? Through recovery?

Sorry if these have been asked before, but search results were kind of wonky and all over the place. Thanks!

Wait for a rooted version of it. Accepting ota's while rooted can cause some serious issues. The developers usually release a rooted version of the ota before sprint even does..

People usually post updates here... but also keep an eye on xda, that's where all the info usually originates from

I thought I heard it will only unroot your phone, so in theory it could do worse if I update via OTA?

could get the "half Root", you have unrooted bootloader, no recovery and messed up rom and you are bbbbbricked, now this happens very infrequently but is it worth the chance
