RS HTC EVO Return and Cancellation

Planning on returning my HTC EVO at Radio Shack. Also cancelling my Sprint Service. What's the best way to proceed? Should I port my number to my new provider and then return the phone to RS or should I call Sprint first? I am within the 30 days return stuff. I'm confused.

Sprint is great about returns. In mid may i added a second line, got an Overdrive. After a few weeks, I then realized that the EVO was coming out and had HotSpot capability, therefore I would not need the Overdrive anymore. I walked in to the Sprint store with No box, No manual and NO recipt... just the Overdrive and power cable. They credited my accout for the cost of the overdirve and any useage i had. no questions asked, in and out in 10 mins. Another reason i'm glad to be a Sprint customer.

I'm going back to AT&T , sprint in my area is bad, love my EVO but can't deal with poor coverage.
