Root RSD Lite no recognizing phone

I'm trying to go back to 2.0.1.

I have everything downloaded and installed including the latest Droid drivers.

It appears as if RSD Lite doesn't recognize that there is a phone attached.

Any ideas as to how to get it to recognize my phone?

Are you booting while holding the D-Pad after you plug the phone in?

Yes,

I am holding it down. I saw somewhere to wait until the bootloader started before pluging in the usb cable.

That doesn't work either.
