What do you guys have to cry about this for?

Just don't read it. We're all adults here, and I for one(obviously like many others) like talking about what may be in store for this phone, or not.

And saying we JUST got Froyo, doesn't that give us a better reason to be more skeptical about us never seeing in on our DX? That just makes me sad.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with this thread, he posted something about the next update that might be coming out soon, he never said he wanted it now for the X.

We should all be happy, the sooner it is released, the sooner Motorola will be able to release it to us. Now I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't get the update until 2011 but I still think there is nothing wrong with this thread.

This is where you are wrong. If you understand ANYTHING about American Capitalism in the 21st Century you know For Profit Companies are ALL ABOUT forcing you to buy the newer product!

Not saying you are wrong because that's simply how many businesses do operate, but so far history hasn't concretely proved that Motorola won't give the DX another update. Just saying we can't quickly assume anything.

And I agree with those that say these threads are pointless.

Please, MODERATORS ban anyone that starts these threads about future software updates! This is ubsurd. These threads are going to start popping up like crazy again, and its all speculation. Can we please make a sub forum for this gingerbread software speculation stuff. Otherwise it clutters up the main forum and draws everyone and their mother in here to keep the BS going. 2. You are that guy who makes the "next update" threads turn into "I hate when people talk about the next update" threads. So please, you should stop, the OP did nothing wrong, he just posted some information that does relate to the DX.

Maybe someone should make a poll to find out if these threads are pointless or not.

Anyway, I don't go to a bunch of different forums or sites to see what is going on and get everyones takes. When I was going to get my X and switch to android I looked around and this seemed the most informative and helpful forum out there. I don't mind a thread that I will never read if it has to do with our phones/android/verizon. Now if someone posted Rumor: AT&T iPhone 4g getting new update....that would be pointless and tick me off.

One factor many seem to forget, is that "nice" and "constructive" can be mutually separate.

Constructive critisicm, even if negative, should always be welcome here, even if it pertains to the forum itself. Complaining just to be a PITA with no goal of making this community a better place? That's something that shouldn't be tolerated.

I'm not taking sides on this issue, but the thought that "If you don't have anything nice to say then GTFO" is wrong.

You got me wrong, what I meant was that if you don't have anything nice OR constructive to say than you should keep it to yourself.

I would find it odd to hear that anyone preferred otherwise.
