runkeeper

after waiting for a month i should finally get my desire tomorrow, was just wondering what the best jogging application is out on android for free, was going to try runkeeper first and wondered what people recommended and can u play music while using runkeeper?

I am new to the Desire and have the same question. On my iPhone I had the Bridge to 10K (before that, I had the C25K) and I miss that program the most. Anything similar would be great. I would like to have a program that will let me enter running/jogging intervals and play music in the background.

I use runkeeper and its great. Let's u choowe ur activity (including swimming - who swims with their phone?), and then will time you and tell you how many calories you've burned. it also plots your route on a map and allowz u to save ur activities.

My only criticism would b that at no point does it ask for your height or weight and so the calories burned cannot be completely accurate.

Should allow you to play music as android allows multi-tasking.

Be warned though - listening to music and using the GPS on runkeeper will drain your battery if ur going out running for long periods of time

I use CardioTrainer and it's pretty sweet so you may want to check that out.

I use Run keeper but I guess it's not much difference between the sport apps. I think it's a question of you finding which one is:

More detailed ( As posted above Run keeper fails in not asking weight and height)
Most friendly use
Less battery use.

Desire me can yo be more detailed?

Does cardiotrainer ask for weight/height?
Counts heartbeat?

Download it from the Market (it's free) and see if it does what you want. I'm not a runner, i used it for a hike. It has things like step size and calories etc etc.
