Running 2.1v3 still no ota update but friends got it

Hey everyone, I am running Android 2.1 version 3.
My mom was running Android 1.5 until a few hours ago when I settings<about phone< system update and saw the 2.1 waiting for her to be updated! She was happy and so was I. Buuuut I went to check mine and nothing. I think it is because I was impatient and did the zip. if this is so, please let me know. And also can I downgrade if I have to, to get the OTA?
 
So far, nobody who "did the zip" has gotten the OTA. And there is no way to downgrade. But if you flash the 3rd version of the leak, you will be running the same OS as the OTA, sooooo..... There you go.

I know I just want to root, and you can't with flashed 2.1v3
 
Yeah, a lot of us regret not rooting/flashing leaks. I made the mistake of flashing the wrong file, and ended up on V.2 leak. I was so mad.

Yes, I know. When I went to load my sd card with the root file, since they were named the same, I put on the leak file instead. Trying to hurry and screwed myself out of root. But thanks for the heads up.
