Root RUU failed

The RUU failed as the bootloader version is to new.......

any ideas?

But yes, you cannot go backwards with RUU's. Its a ROM Upgrade Utility so you can only go equal or newer, not backwards. So the RUU you are using includes and older hboot than you have on your phone.

Think SU meant more info as in details of the RUU you tried, as might be a later one available. Current phone details - hboot, software version - also useful as might point to having to use teppic's downgrade toll.

I'm don't pretend to be an expert - more details needed for the gurus to help though

the RUU I tried..
RUU_Bravo_Vodafone_UK_1.19.161.5_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126338_signed

my phone was from vodafone, but i dunno if it was genric software.... i have the original rom after i rooted ill restore to that and get the number that way ill know if i need a vodafone version or a generic one...
