Help S-Beam not working

Hello, I have a Galaxy Note 2 and my wife has the Galaxy Note. When I try to s-beam a photo to her phone it opens up the play store on her phone and then says item not found. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Also when I try and s-beam from her phone it makes the s-beam sound but nothing happens.

What Note does your wife have? AT&T Notes do not use the nfc chip as it has been disabled internally. Don't know about other carriers, though.

We have telus phones and the nfc does work in both.

Just a question but when you touch the phones together are you tapping the screen?

Same here. I have a N1 on ics, wife has a N2 on JB, phones from Telus and S beam works fine both ways.
