S Note file on Note 2 and Note 10.1?

Can an S Note file (with or without audio) which has been created and saved on a Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet be transferred to a Note 2 (and vice-versa)?

FWIW, using Kies, via USB, I "exported" notes from my Note 1 to my PC. I then exported the "*.ssn" file from the PC to my Note 2. My only issue is that I have "memos" on my at&t Note 1, and my T-Mo USA Note 2 does not have the S Memo app, which uses "*.ssm" files.

I'm wondering that even if the .SSN files can be transferred, whether having a Note 2 on Jelly Bean and S Note's additional functionality will mean that a 10.1 which is still on ICS (4.04) will not be able to open a .ssn file created on the Note 2. Anyone out there with both a Note 10.1 and a Note 2 who can test this, please?
