Help S Note too bright?

I have just bought the 32GB WiFi only version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition and when I open up the S Note app it seems to override the brightness setting and puts the screen on full brightness. I usually use my tablet in low light conditions at night and it blinds me! Is there a fix for this?

The fix for "just bought" is "warranty exchange". Why do it the hard way?

Well I assumed it was just a setting that I'd missed. I didn't realise it warranted being sent back!

Mine works as advertised. I also open it up at night to read, and I have the brightness slider all the way to the left. I don't use Auto at all. It always stays where I left it.

If I had mine in front of me, I would go through the settings to see if we are missing anything, but don't think your problem is anything more than a setting someplace.

When I open S Note it stays at my normal brightness setting but it's when I open up an actual note to start writing or drawing that it zooms up to full brightness. I can't find any setting for it. I went into application manager and cleared all data and started again but I still have the same issue. I've also been having issues with lag and freezing and last night it restarted itself for no apparent reason so I've sent an email to expansys where I purchased it from requesting a swap. Hopefully they will get back to me in a couple of days. I have 14 days to return it anyway.
