Root s-off and rom question.

so a couple of days ago i got mine phone rooted (htc evo v). so i have an 8gb sd card and for some reason there is like 3gb used that i dont even know what it is. So im deciding on getting another sd card with more space . Would it affect my phone to get another sd card ? will it do something crazy to it ? , also im planing on getting s-off wich im a bit scared to do. i also have this beats audio installer in my phone wich im not going to do beacuse if i were to get s-off and flash mobster it is included in it i think and also many people got their devices bricked because of it . what is the risk of getting bricked in the process of s-off ? what about if im in the wire trick and for some reason i lost the wire and want to abort is it possible ? im probably going to put a 2gb sd card just in case everything gets erased and what about to flash you just go to the recovery and go to roms and select is that it ? and after flashing the rom will i get all the setting and everyhting erased or is it just when your root?

Replacing SD card will be fine. Some apps may stop working if data is stored on it that apps need, but phone will work fine.
If anything goes wrong with s-off, the guys at unlimited.io are great at helping. just make sure drivers are installed. very very unlikely to get an unrecoverable brick.

Anything that's insulated, fits in the hole and conducts electricity. No need to over think this, I've used everything from a piece of wire to a twist tie to get it done.
