Root S-Off needed?

I just rooted my phone and did everything in the guide except the s-off and I'm a bit to nervous to try it. I was wondering if there is a full featured ROM I can use that doesn't require S-Off. Thank You.

yep just make sure you got smartflash on if youre using 4ext recovery. its more roms but thats what i used

Let me tell you, I was nervous about it as well. I rooted my phone 3 days ago and said I'm not doing s-off. I decided I truly wanted to unlock my phone and I got s-off last night . Performed the wire trick with a paperclip wrapped in electrical tape. It took all of 10 seconds for me to get it. It is not hard at all. Follow the on screen instructions and it's cake.

Eventually your curiosity will get the better of you and the desire to try out the stuff you can't access will take you. You will s-off at some point. You will be assimilated.

Just do S-Off. There are a thousand threads JUST like this one, everyone is scared. Its easy. And worth it. Please review other threads before opening another duplicate

Embarrassingly, it took me a considerable amount of time (maybe 30 minutes) to do S-OFF because I couldn't get the timing right and I kept sending my phone into a deep sleep. I resolved it by myself and eventually got it, just by pulling the battery for about 30 seconds and trying again. It's really not difficult, just follow the directions. I posted a thread that gives a bit of info on these processes if you're interested.

Lol only 30 minutes took me 2 hours......

It Took me about an hour, not because of the wire trick, but because windows vista sucks. J-bear kept aborting during the process and I would have to retstart. It took about 15 tries to finally get to the wire trick phase, The stupid part is, I could have just booted ubuntu and probably did it first try, but I wasn't about to let vista get get the best of me.

Vista s*cks, within a day of release I immediately downgraded back to XP, now I tri-boot XP Pro, 7 Ultimate and Ubuntu. :D
