Root S-off question

Ok so I got my Evo 4g into S-off. I was running revolutionary and typed 'Y' to install clockwork recovery but it stops, over and over, and I can't continue no matter how many times I run the program.

I confirmed that I have S-OFF status. Is this ALL I need to be able to install Barnacle WiFi and use my Evo as a WiFi hotspot?

I'm not interested in custom ROMS, etc. Justw ant to use the Evo as an internet source for my Transformer Prime tablet.

moved you to the rooting section

go here:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html and follow the switching recoveries section. i know that you do not have one, but the process is still the same. plus this will give you amon ra which is a better recovery anyways.
