S Pen Handwriting - Deleting characters

Hi all - I like the handwriting recognition software generally on my Note 2, but deleting a character in the middle of a word is tricky. The instructions show that drawing a loop will do it but it more often than not it simply writes a 6 or O.

Does anyone know what precisely I should be doing? Should I start at the centre of the character I want to delete? End it at the top or above? Have a neck, body and tail? Larger body? Any other options

Hope this is clear.
Thanks
Ian

Just draw a quick hyphen (-) from right to left - it eliminates spaces and characters to the left of your last insertion. Coincidentally, drawing the same hyphen from left to right inserts a space.

Thanks Heat57 - I am such an idiot. I assumed that the back stroke was only for the end of a word. Great stuff. Thank you.
