S pen question

Hey all,

Interested in the GN2. I'm a healthcare worker and anticipate using the GN2's snote/spen applications heavily for memos and to-dos etc during the job. How sensitive/accurate is the spen when jotting notes in the note app? Is the sensitivity adjustable as well? Haven't had the opportunity to demo a device yet, so I thought I'd field this question to our early owners. Thanks.

Probably best trying it out 1st. For me its fine but I don't use it for note taking all that much, don't think you can change the sensitivity though.

compared to a ballpoint pen/notepad, how hard do you have to press down on the s-pen/screen to get it to write? more, less, or same?

Really hard too say, on a naked screen (no protector) it's very sensitive and you don't have to apply virtual any pressure. like the comment said before me go to a place that displays them and test it out.

rwheezy (guessing pulmonology lol), I'm in HC and plan on using this device similarly for taking H&Ps and jotting labs. My prior digital inking experience started with n-trig on my dell and currently I have a samsung 7 slate with wacom for the digitizer, the same technology used in the note 2. Wacom is the gold standard for digital inking.

I've tested the note 2 and find it writes pretty well, my handwriting legible even when holding the device in standing position. The new s-pen is much better to hold than the note 1. However, it's still not the best. The great thing about wacom is that you can use any wacom pen with the phone. I have tried using one of these on the galaxy note 1 and had a much better experience:

I have not had a chance to take the couple of wacom pens I have and try them on the note 2, which is supposed to be more fluid and sensitive than the note 1. One of the pens I have has more of a felt tip (most wacom pens come with many different tips) and feels great when pretending to write on the glass of my nexus. Can't wait to try it on the note 2!

As others have said, go down to tmobile or sprint and ask to try it out.

Not speaking for other users but I would say when I write on my Note 2 the pressure would be similar to a fountain pen, hardly any pressure but enough do what is required.

I have found that writing with the S-pen is quite easy. The only issue I have found so far with writing is when you turn the phone sideways your note is not scrollable. wherever it is on the screen is it. The phone will not allow me to scroll to the bottom. I am sure at some point that can be fixed. But I work around it for now.
