Newbie
I have a galaxy S2 on Bell network in Canada running 2.3.3 tried connecting to kies and said firmware is current , can i not get 2.3.4 or others for my phone ?

update : so after doing some reading i see there is no update from bell , so now my question is can i or how do i update without rooting or voiding warranty ?

You do not need root to update. Its called flashing and can be done via ODIN of which step by step instructions can be found somewhere in the forum as well as net. The important thing is to select the right firmware for your region. I have not done any flashing as mine is 2.3.6 officially. So hope you can find what you are looking for in the forums.

Not sure about losing warranty as I have heard in some cases they are ok with it and in others not.

Cheers

I'm on bell with a 2.3.6 LA4 frankenstein firmware with bell csc LPB modem and everything is perfect. No root required. Frankenstein version has the old bootloader so you can easily reset your counter in case you have to send it in,and can also install any csc/modem you wish.
