Help S2 Proxy

Just a quick question I'm considering the S2 but need to know if its possible to set proxy/port settings as with the SGS.

If you'd like to check for me its under wifi settings and pressing the menu button you should have an advanced option and in the options here proxy and port should be listed.

Cheers

There doesn't appear to be.

Also, someone asked about this very issue a week or so ago (needed to use his/her phone on the work wifi network) so if you do a search, you'll find more info on this.

Ahem, sorry. I was spreading misinformation.

ac3xx is quite right, I clearly didn't look properly mea culpa.

Hey, I posted about this a week ago. Proxy support is there in GS2,but is limited to only the stock web browser.
You will not be able to download anything via wifi , if it has proxy enabled, also none of your apps will be able to connect to the internet on a wifi connection where data is routed through proxy.

Proxy support (universal) has been added "today" in Honeycomb 3.0 OS for android tablets, check issue no. 1273
So I am hoping that future updates for smartphones would include it as well.

At college I've tried to use their open wifi connectivity, and when I click on it to connect, it connects fine. The problem occurs when I try to go on the internet or anything else. When the internet explorer opens, a message says something along the lines of "You do not have a valid proxy setting", basically saying that I can't use the internet- I can only use it at home- which is ridiculous!!
I hope someone can help... :(
