Is this phone suitable to replace a GPS data logger? Any ideas how much life I might get from the battery with the GPS enabled all the time?

Galaxy S2 is suitable to replace GPS data logger.
Duration depends by the application used.

I've long tested the simple (and Open Source) Basicairdata GPS Logger: all duration tests have returned more than 8 hrs of continuous logging (in background), also on a old Google IdeOS with Android 2.2.
