Help S3 GT-I9300 can't recognize SIM

Hello fellas,

Often my phone can't recognize my SIM. I'm connected to a company that uses EDGE and the phone i have is NEW and UNLOCKED. When this happens i have to peel of the back and reset the SIM and it works again. Other persons with the same phone and company don't have this issue. Could the problem be with the phone or SIM card? and is there a way to resolve this?

Thanks

Yeah they can activate replacement sims really quick. Get then to post it or collect from a shop

Welcome to the forum.

Yeah as mentioned it'll be best to try a different sim. I've moved this over to the main gs3 forum:)

Yup sounds like what the men are saying. Faulty sims are quite common.
If its a high-street carrier, its as simple as going into the shop, answering a few security questions and getting a blank sim assigned to your number/account.
If its an online or virtual carrier, just report the sim lost/damaged and wait for a replacement (youll probably spend a few days with no phone while you wait, try and report it on a monday) ;)

I have a Galaxy S2 (not S3) and it`s started to do the same thing recently:S I must restart the phone 2-3 times and then it`s works again (or not) but sometimes only for afew minutes then going away again. And no, it`s not faulty sim card because in my other mobile (LG Optimus L3) works flawlessly. Btw it`s Three - UK sim card.
Actually I`m kinda dissatisfied with the Samsung phone..in the last couple of weeks it`s started to drop signal strength and sim card availability. Really annoying. Solution? Don`t know, but my contract ends soon and my new mobile should not be another Samsung, that`s for sure...
