S3 Likelihood??

They will surely come up with kind of improved, refreshed SGSII this Fall to counter iPhone4S (or iPhone5 whatever apples calls it). But I doubt it will be called SGS3. Samsung will keep one year cycle for major new version release like Apple.

Yeah, but the report "claims" they're shifting to a 6-8th month flagship schedule which fits the GSII being released April-MAy (as it came out across different carriers) at least in the UK and so according to the 6-8month schedule December could be a potential release. Sounds a bit stupid to me though, seeing as that it would be a 3-4month turnover for US customers, which is clearly their biggest customer base.

I really don't want them to become like HTC and just release phones "willy-nilly."
But I think it's because they want to be the FIRST phones with 300+ PPI AND Super AMOLED Plus - which they've said WILL BE in products by the year end.

Samsung spent 7 months developing the SGS2, it's not gonna be released here in Aus for another month or so, then in the US a few months later..

The SGS3 won't be out by the end of this year, unless it uses the same hardware, and just has an overclocked cpu and bigger screen. I guess they could do it then..

Here's the thing. If the US is getting custom builds per carrier, it's plausible that some or all could be getting qHD. By the time the phone is released, SA+ at higher pixel densities will be mass-producible. Also, the 4.5" SA+ display is already released in the Infuse 4G for AT&T here in the states. Really, they could do whatever they want. So basically the SGS3 line could be a few upgrades to the basic hardware of the SGS2. Probably won't work out this way for us Americans, but it could easily be done that way.

True, but you'll end up getting the better deal. US MARKET makes others look pitiful! :p
