Help s3 notification bar icon

Theres a icon on my notification bar that looks like diamond with cross hairs in it that wont go away? On verizon network

Also possibly the icon that shows up when you have more notifications than can be displayed

Someone said it could be 911 gps and it stays on the status bar.

Yes, that's the GPS symbol that does stay in the notification bar. When it's turned On there will be 3 curved lines on the side of it.

Yes exactly. But on my friends on at&t and boost mobile doesn't have it I have Verizon

Its likely carrier specific then.

Verizon in particular does a lot of strange things with their devices.

Its just annoying sitting there taking up space. Other than that love the phone. Thank you guys.

Theres no decent non-root ways to remove things like that AFAIK. If it also has a notification in the pull-down, you can long-press that, tap "app info" then uncheck the "show notifications" box. If not, youre at the mercy of what your carrier thinks your phone should look like

I too have an icon appearing in the Status Bar that I'm not sure what it represents. It comes and goes, always appears on the far left of the status bar and has no pattern (at least that I can see) as to when it appears. It looks like a white filled in sideways "house" drawing with a black "+" sign in the middle.

It just means your notifications are full. If you dismiss a few itl go away :thumbup:
