Help S3 sound issue

My co-worker has a Galaxy S3 through AT&T. Suddenly people can't hear her when she talks. She can hear other people just vice versa. It's not muted or anything. I am thinking that there may be something wrong with the mic. Not sure. She really wants a factory reset to be the last resort.

Have her check the bottom of the Phone. There is a small hole on the right side. Make sure no trash is in it.

Also. When she talks into the phone, can she hear her own voice through the speaker? (Actualy i cant remember if youre supposed to hear your own voice lol. Can anyone confirm?)
