S4- battery problems

My S4 is only 3 weeks old and I have to charge my phone everyday or sometimes twice a day . I have power saving on, wifi and all the other features off but what's the point of having a phone and not being able to use all the features. Do I have a faulty battery? Any1 have any tips?

Charging 1-2x per day may be normal depending on your usage.

Settings...more...battery...

What do your see? (Post a screen shot here)

If you've like me, screen uses 75%+....so that's the most important thing. Keep display on auto usually works well. Set a low screen timeout time like 45 sec.

There may be other advice after you post screen shot.

First 3"+ screen smartphone huh?

Those HD screens are battery hogs. But of all the smartphones I've ever owned, the S4 has the best battery life. I can go all day with no problem. But with any modern smartphone, you're going to charge it every day, in most cases.

My S4 is my fourth smartphone. It needs charging every day, exactly like its three predecessors.

Ever since I got my first smartphone, I got into the routine of putting my phone on to charge overnight and that routine has served me well.

May I just ask, how heavily do you use your S4? Do you use GPS a lot? Are you constantly Web browsing, Facebooking/Tweeting/Instagraming, WhatsApp/BBM/Any other IM or social networking activity? Do you take a lot of pics? Also, what phone did you have before your S4?

Many of the things I listed can be heavy on the battery, and if you do a lot of social networking I do suggest you check how regularly your FB/Twitter for example poll for new feeds in Settings, many of them are set to check every 15mins-1hour by default and can guzzle battery.

If all the above is in check then I suggest you turn GPS off as Google has done a major mess with GPS usage lately and if your S4 is on Android4.4.2 KitKat you may be facing the GPS bug.

If all the above is in check then you may have a faulty unit, in that case, send the phone back OR take it in for repair.
