Help S4 mini Update and Performance problems

Recently bought an galaxy S4 mini (model I9190) and tried to update it, as it was running with awful performance, no matter how much memory i tried cleaning with the built-in RAM cleaner. Trying to check for updates by pressing Settings -> "More" Tab -> About device -> System Update results in no response from the phone, as if the Check for updates button was just useless. Any help on trying to update or solving performance problems? Thanks in advance.

Use Kies to update it

Already tried but Kies does not find my phone, the pc can find it and transfer data to te phone, yet Kies can't "see" my phone

Perhaps it's a clone? What Baseband Version is it running?

It's running baseband version I9190XXUAMF7

That seems to be a valid Samsung baseband, so don't think it's a knock-off. Don't know so much about the S4 mini, other than it's quite a different device to the S4.

I just went to the application manager again to check if the RAM as alright and found that 162mb is using more than 60% of total RAM, And i'm pretty sure s4 mini has 1.5Gb of memory. Looks like android is not using all the device's RAM, does that help in any way?
