Help S4 Root Apps crashing Rom Toolbox not working

NytsuJH

Lurker
Hello community,
First of all sorry for my bad english :p
So yesterday I rooted my Samsung GT-i9050. Now I noticed that Instagramm won't reload and show me pics and it says "Sorry programm closed, do you want to report this".
Also I installed Rom Toolbox but whenever I want to install a boot animation it says "open failed: ENOENT (No such file or directory)".
I am a totall newling when it comes to rooting. I Rooted it with TWRP and didn't do anything after that.
When I open Rom Toolbox and go to the "boot animation" section it also says, that with some devices from samsung u need to install a Kernel befor some animations might work. Also installing Fonts or other stuff doesn't work. If i click "intall" it just closes the programm with -> "Sorry programm closed, do you want to report this".

If someone could help me that would be great :)
I have searched the whole internet but didn't find anyone having my problem :(

Hello and welcome to Android Forums NytsuJH! :)

Thank you for your post.

There are currently 23 different models of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and over 1,000 different stock Samsung firmware versions, worldwide, covering 3 different Android platforms. Not all issues will affect all models or firmware releases and your answers to the following questions will help in the forum's answers to your specific query.

#1 Could you post your Model number and Android version...

To locate these, go to...

Settings > More > About device > Model number and Android version

This will give you the model of Samsung Galaxy S4 that you have and which Android version you are on.

#2. Your current Firmware, (not just Baseband), version .

To locate your current firmware version, go to the stock, Samsung, dial pad and type in...

*#1234#

This will give you your, "Version", details in full, usually 3 lines of information, AP: CP: CSC:, which may all be relevant.

*** If code *#1234# has been disabled on your firmware, you can download and install, free from the Play Store, Phone Info and it will give you, under Firmware Info... PDA, Baseband, CSC, versions.

#3. Also helpful would be your carrier, (service provider), location, (UK, India, Russia, USA, etc: ), and if your phone is rooted or not and running a custom ROM, (give details of the method of rooting used and link if possible).

Thanks. The above helps us to help you and hopefully someone will be able to reply to you shortly. :)

(Tip: You can go to the green bar at the top of this forum and click on, "User CP", which will take you to your User Control Panel and then select, "Edit your details", under the heading, "Your profile", on the left hand side. Here you can fill in your model and firmware under, "Current devices", in, "Additional Information". This ensures that your device details are shown under your user name on the left, in every post you make. You can update this as often as you like and will help other users immediately identify your current phone and firmware details.)

My Model Number: GT-I9505

So, you have the S4 International version, GT-i9505, and not the Chinese, GT-i9050.

Android version: 4.2.2

I think that that firmware, NB9, should read Android 4.4.2, KitKat.

I live in Germany and YES I rooted my Phone.
I used TWRP like in this Video How to Root Galaxy S4 using TWRP Method! - YouTube

;)

Your best option is to flash the stock Samsung firmware for your phone, see #1.5 of 23 Galaxy S4 models - know yours? and then re-root it by following the step-by-step instructions in the Rooting Galaxy S4 - Dummies Guide

Yes sorry I have the GT-i9505 version :)

And NO it doesn't say "kitkat" only 4.4.2

I don't find a firmware matching CSC: I9505OXXFNB2 ?? Can you send me a Link to witch firmware I should put on?:)

I did everything you said......AND IT WORKT:D:D:)
I really don't know why because I did the same thing as I did when I rooted it the first time:confused:
But thank you it is finally working. I am so happy that there is someone like you that really knows what he is saying and doing and is here in forums to help people like me :) !!!!!! Keep it up ;):D
