Help s4 sprint camera zoom

cannot zoom in or out in this mode - galaxy s4 sprint

I've searched and searched - I have 3 galaxy s4 phones on sprint - and We all can't zoom in. My friend on ATT and Verizon with an s4 are not having this problem. Short of rooting this phone or buying camera zoom fx, I'm not sure what else to do.

I can't find the settings tab to lower resolution, nor get it into a mode that allows zooming.

I'm on Sprint and zooming works for me. You need to "pinch and expand" using two fingers to zoom...same as if you were zooming on a webpage.

I have been trying the pinch zoom

Try clearing Data and Cache for the camera. If that doesn't work you may want to try a factory reset.

Things I have done before posting.

1. Cleared Cache
2. Pinch Zoom
3. Slide zoom
4. looked for "settings" - I see verizon/att phones with at least a settings option while in camera mode
5. Changed to EVERY mode available.
6. Searched
7. Searched
8. Looked at att and verizon s4 camera modes.
9. Searched

- Rooting tomorrow. At least I'll be able to tether - if nothing else. I would factory reset, but if I'm going to have to reinstall all my apps - i'll just root.

Thanks for the suggestions.
