S4 Wifi Hot Spot & Misc.

Hello.

I am debating switching to the S4 and ditching mine and my wife's iPhone 5s. I am curious if anyone knows if apps like SVTP will turn the S4 into a hotspot for wifi use? I used that app on my galaxy nexus, and this is another big reason I am looking at going back to Android from iOS.

I am also curious if a lot of folks are experiencing some of the "lag" issues I read about on here?

Also - battery life is a big deal, really huge. Curious what folks are seeing on the Verizon models that have had them for a couple of weeks.

As far as battery life goes, I'm getting better battery life on my S4 (with the standard battery) than I did on my Motorola Droid Bionic with the extended battery.

No apps required to use it as a HotSport. For some time Android has had this functionality built-in.

Don't know about the app you mentioned, but I use Foxfi for hot spot use.

I have not had any lag with my S4, but I use TSF Shell for my launcher and disabled most of the "gimmick" features on the first day. You will see a wide variety of answers to that question, some do, some don't and some "think maybe there is some lag".

Battery life for me has been excellent! That's with live wallpaper, widgets, etc. However I'm not using it for much gaming, so I can't speak for that.
