S4

The s4.is the coolest thing since wonder bread. I just wish boost was as cool and supplied it. I think I'm gonna hold off on the s3 and see of the s4 ever comes to boost.

That's cool. Didn't really have plans to get the s3 in near future anyway. I'd hate to buy the s3 then have the s4 come out right after. Even if it means the s2 for another year.

While I understand Boost's logic in postponing the newest phones in favor of Sprint's contract customers, it seems counterproductive to offer the S3 after other prepaid has the S4.

It would be reasonable that when other prepaid has the newest phones that Boost would be forced to up their schedule.

I have to agree. Other prepaid carriers beginning to offer the S4 would put pressure on Boost to do the same especially if the cost of service between the prepaid carriers is of similar price for the customer. Though with the S3 at 400 dollars, I wouldn't be getting the S4 anytime soon either...

Wow, just checked the Cricket site and they have a very tempting offer on the S4.

$330 (after rebates) with the only stipulation of auto-payment setup and 2 months payment.

Plans are slightly more expensive ($10/month) for me, but I could prolly save $ by buying refills online after my requirement is up.

Huh ...

Yeah, Certain areas can't get the s3 or s4 through cricket, I live in columbus oh. And I can't get either one as I'm in what they call a " paygo" area. So I think just because they offer them isn't significant in any way.

I find the same issue with clear talk (Wallmart sells it). If I go to their web site and enter my zip code it will not show me the galaxy S3 phones and shows me icky iPhone crap, but when I change to another zip code (that is in the same city) they show the Galaxy. I think that is a total load of garbage as both those zip codes are covered by the same towers.

But with cricket you can get 10gb of data not that I use it I am on wifi most of the time but I have no wimax where I live but there is lte with 10 gb I can cancel my home internet and use my phone for my PlayStation and my computer and save money like that

If ur never gonna use 10gigs anyway, go with a carrier that has a lower data threshold. You would probably have overall faster speeds that way by not having so many other subscribers hogging 10gigs per month and not getting throttled back. Personally I don't care so much that boost throttles people. Probably means faster speeds for everyone as long as you're not looking for more than 2.5 gigs, which I personally am not.

U don't think you'll go over 10 gigs using Xbox/ps3 when you are already coming close if not exceeding the 2.5 gig limit with JUST Ur phone? 10 gigs isn't much to run all your internet needs if you're gonna run it like that. I guess you'd just have to watch it

yeah, I only found 1gb on their plans section also (nothing else close to 10gb). Figured it was a simple mistake or cricket is generous in your area. In the year I've been with boost I have never went over half a GB (I'm always on wifi or just in the middle of nowhere with no service). So I can deal with boost.

Hum better choice of phones, the plans are comparable in cost and they are also on the Sprint network... Something to consider. Sprint better stop treating Boost as their unwanted step child.... Since i pay for tethering Crickets 5gig plan is actually cheaper...

The S2 really is a great phone. Is there even any extra functionality when upgrading to the S3 or S4? I live in a rural area and the closest 4g area is STL and it has wimax only at the moment.(boost/sprint) So, in my region, at the moment, it would be a downgrade in connectivity. The only benefit I can see would the bigger screen size and higher dpi. Seems a waste of money to me.

Well there is also the faster processing. The S2 is by no means a slow device. I love my S2. There will always be people who want to jump on the next new hot device, but for those willing to wait a bit, they get it for less money and with bugs worked out.

Bingo. My S2 has every single "quirk" that it can and i would love to get something else but anything else is a step down. I can't imagine how long it will take (if ever) for LTE will be widely available in nearly all markets. I do have WiMax in my home area. So for me, going to an LTE phone means i would be downgrading to 3g only... In fact, in the center of my hometown, you can't even get a 3g connection but the Clear antennas are on buildings...so perfect 4g...and it is a small town. :dontknow:

I have to agree here, I see no reason now to upgrade to a S3 for only really getting a bigger screen for 400 bucks, now with a S4 tho I don't no but like everyone else I don't seeing that happen for awhile, but like everyone one else I love my GS2, I came from a ZTW Warp overclocked at 1.8 single core and I thought I was sh@tting and getting lol, now tho running dual core at 1.6, I see no reason to upgrade anytime soon.........;):D

I have the S2 & S3 with Boost. The only difference I can honestly find between the phones is the LTE is a little faster in my area(Dumb luck and have WiMax & LTE). Other than that, unless some Roms are made or ported over to the Boost S3 the processing speed of both phones is about the same in the current stages of development for both phones. Just saying. Plus, the S3's response is a little glitchy at times with the stock rom.
