Root S7 + battery life issue?

Since ive upgraded to Serendipity VII, ive had TERRIBLE battery life. My last run, was 14 hours. Normally, i do a complete drain/re-charge. Even though this is when i started with S7 i notice it more, even when i had the phone on stock Froyo 2.2, it was the same way, or similar.... Im using Juice Defender, and the onboard task killer that came with S7, and i cant even get a full 24 hours.
This concerns me, as last night i went out of town, and while driving back in, my phone was totally dead.

Any idea's what to try? My basic settings are as follows:
Wifi OFF
BT OFF
Auto-refresh ON
Juice Defender ON
Screen auto-brightness OFF
Screen brightness: MINIMAL
Modem: JL2
Apps in background: Go!Chat, Juice Defender

Battery info:
Facebook 53%
Display 17%
Forces of War 12%
Cell Standby 9%
Phone idle 4%
Android os 3%
Time on battery: 1h 18m 46s
Battery % - 92%

(On another note, Facebook isn't even open on my phone right now!)

Thanks,
-Dan

I just flashed S7 yesterday, so I can't speak to the effect of the rom on the battery. However, I don't think I've ever gotten close to 24 hours on my phone, even at its peak. But then again, I've never tried to push it to see how long I can go. I get comfortably through the day and charge it while I sleep. I have a car charger if I'm worried it won't make it due to extra use.

My battery life seems pretty good after S7. I wake up at 530, use my phone throughout the day for mms, web surfing, emails, phone calls, etc. Usually about 4 - 6 hours of display on time. By the time bed time comes around, usually 11 or midnight, I usually have 30-40% left.

I dont kill tasks, my display is on auto brightness, no task killers/juice defenders, wi-fi is on all day, bluetooth is off 95% of the time.

I also have a car charger as well just in case.

Maybe a reflash may be in store for you??

Possibly, but i dont know how a re-flash would help this. Flashing over the old rom, with the same rom? Im hoping its somehting im doing. I see alot of threads saying not to use task killers either.

i just went back to my phone (been playing some comp games all morning) and its been off the charger since i originally posted this.. .Facebook is KILLING my phone. Here is the newest about on the battery

FB 62%
display 18
standby 6
forces of war 4
Os 2
idle 2
market 1
android system 1

Its no wonder im getting terrible battery life, something in Facebook is killing my phone.

Maybe this tidbit of info can help?

uninstall the app or something. for some reason it isnt closing on your phone. you could try reinstalling or even just leave it off. the facebook app for android was poorly written and they havent updated it nearly enough

So just use the mobile version or something?

Something is wrong with your Facebook settings. Wipe the app data on that, or at least make sure none of the syncing is being done more often than 15 or 30 min. That % is unbelievably high for a single app.

What do you mean by wipe the app data? Ive uninstalled the app, and re-installed it. If im not using it, it now closes all the way.

my stats are now as follows:

OS: 37%
Display 19%
wifi 17%
standby 14%
idle 6%
FOW 3%
Android system 2%

5 hours on the battery, 75% left.
Here's the catch. Ive had it unplugged for 5 hours, however, i haven't touched it since ive been sitting on my PC. Ive done maybe a total of 5 mins worth on my phone. I'm debating on re-flashing Serendipity to see what happens.

Lemme know what you think.

Update:

Reflashed my phone from square one with the kernel, and the rom. Did everything step by step. this time i did NOT install facebook right off the bat, so there is no trace of FB anywhere. Significantly better already. Had it unplugged for almost 2 hours, only down to 96%.

Anything goes wrong, i'll let you guys know.

By the end of my work day, here are my results:

Display: 37%
FOW 17%
Standby 14%
Android System 8%
Phone Idle 4%
dialer 3%
Internet 3%
Wifi 2%

45% battery remaining

MUCH better. Im going to do a cycle on the battery, and see what happens. Full drain and re-charge should be done anyways once a week. I'll run it dry with video's tonight, and let her charge over the night.

Menu-Settings-Applications-All applications. Then choose Facebook and try clearing the data and cache.

Issue came back after 2 hours of having FB installed. Went this morning for about 3 hours on FB, only drained 7% battery life. THen was on standby for about 5 hours, and went down to 30% remaining. Pulling off FB, as i had almost 4-5x better battery life without it. Clearly an issue in the programming portion of the app. Using the mobile version actually works better too, as suggested before.

Im also going to try a few different rom's to see whats more to my liking.

idk i use my fb app like practicallly all day every day, and it doesnt affect my battery. i mean other than the regular usage battery drain, nothing rediculous

So, after countless weeks of trying to figure out whats going on with battery life, i think i may have found a cure for some of you. If your experiencing issues with S7 and battery life, DISABLE COMPLETELY email fetching (its within your Gmail account settings in the main accounts & sync settings) Remove both ticks, and do a battery pull. This morning, my battery life dropped from 100%, down to 80% in about 3 hours. After i did this, its been about 4 hours, and has only gone down about 5%. It seems that email fetching was occurring once every 5-10 mins, causing it to drain battery life.

It may not work for everyone, but at least its something to try. For those of you who actually use Live.com mail, this would probably be a good idea to remove any kind of sync and set it for manual sync only (this is good still for contact backup if your not using your SIM card.)

just thought i would give an update.
