Something odd happened to my Orange UK Official 2.3.5 over the weekend. I was taking some photos and locking the screen between shots with the camera app running. After a while I unlocked the phone and the phone froze up and then dropped to the home screen. The home screen was blank, only the stock icons on bottom and the words safe mode written on the bottom right. Thought it was odd but after a battery pull (nothing else turned the phone off) all came back.
Now the odd bit.
In my application window I have 10 screens of apps. After the battery pull fix I had 16. On 6 screens only one app icon was showing. So after some moving them all back to the right screen I was back to normal.
Now it gets odder.
My collegue has an unbranded phone on stock 2.3.4 on different network, he had the same thing happen to his phone over the weekend. Exactly the same issue.
Did google or samsung send an OTA update out to comply with anything ?? Or freaky incident.
