Help Safe mode

So I am stuck at my boot loader and can't get it into safe mode? I have once before but I don't think it was power+home it was something like vol up/down and either search or menu? Anyone?

If you are stuck at the bootloader with an error, you need to SBF.

silly question, but what exactly is SBF?

Basically, it flashes the whole system onto the phone. It will be like it came out of the box. Here are the directions:
