Root Samsung admire ROM problem

Hello all, i have had a samsung admire now for about 7 months and about 4 months back i rooted, installed CWM v5.0.2.7, i flashed a few roms here and there but untimely went back to stock, now whenever i flash a rom it will fully install, and boot the rom but it seems like it goes back to the way it came from the store, i get the metropcs screen and i only gain the apps included in the rom, no themeing or anything else. is it a CWM problem or is it a problem within my actual phone? i was trying to install verbous genocyde 666 or try cm7 but even when trying to install monster 4/5 it stays stock. any help is appreciated
 
Try formatting /system in cwm's mounts and storage section before flashing.
Sounds like it's not wiping before flashing.

Could also try flashing CWM 5.0.2.8
 
i wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, and for the hell of it since i have an extended battery i usually wipe the battery stats
