Root Samsung admire v2.3.4 - [SYSTEM DUMP]

Samsung Admire (System Dump).zip

This is just a System dump pulled off of a STOCK rooted Samsung Admire [2.3.4]

essentially has ALL System files. Alot of people have been going crazy deleting system files and finding no way to replace them . Just simply extract and pull/push any file needed thru adb shell or using Root Explorer.

Hope this helps. I had posted this over at SDX but this is currently were most admire fans reside . So it'll be of more use for you guys.

Yea helped me when I had deleted my stock browser ,then deleted my 3party app launcher. and rebooted -___- phone turned back on with a black screen with the notification bar. I was so madd!! haha but good thing I know how to use adb just simply push the stock browser and vuala! :D so hope everyone can find this helpful.
 
Thanks 4 this system dump! Got back Live Wallpapers! But, where is the stock gingerbread launcher? Should be under system/app/ I deleted it of course ;) Not that I use it cause I'm a launcherpro guy lol But would be useful if I need to do a factory reset aka setup wizard needs that launcher! Thanks in advance! Joe
 
if i were to install this zip using clockwork mod recovery would this essentially do a clean install of the os to metro's rooted admire? if so i'm definitely onto something :)

Hello. I am new to the forum. I purchased my Admire today, rooted it, and removed the Metro web browser. This has caused problems with the phone's wifi capability. I already tried installing the browser .apk and it will not install. I want to restore my phone as it was out of the box. Please someone help.
 
Hello, let me start off by saying THANK YOU, been looking alot of places for this,
anywho im not quite sure what i did to mess up my admire but something wen i call people forces me to close com.andriod.phone ..... just wondering if u had any idea as to how this could help me fix that, also my market is saying a whole bunch of apps that ive downloaded form the market before are no longer supported by my phone...any idea there....im sure the awnser lies in this system dump but im new to andriods, is there anyway i cold use this to reinstall everything?? kinda like reformating a copmuters os?? like i said im new to driod but i am semi tech savvy so any info would b helpfull
 
well this works using adb or a simple root access file explorer to pull and push apps/files/etc.

my guess with the com.phone.androidprocess thing force closing is your Phone.apk simply extract the phone apk and push to your system/app
 
so i did try that and it went though like it was going to do it then all of a sudden it buzzed twice and said app not installed... any other ideas of how to install them....?? mayb i have to uninstall the curent phone.apk, or would that mess it up?? like i said im a noob and dont know what im doing, what do u use to push to your system/app?? i jhut took the phone.apk copyed into a dir, went to apk installe on my phone and tryed it that way.....dosnt wok....any othe ideas?
 
copy and move it to a new folder, the original apk. and once the new apk is put in system folder, make sure your permissions are correct, once they are reboot, even though when i had the same issue once i finished the process, and choose my system from read/write(r/w) to read/only(r/o) it rebooted on its own..

Rhythmic Forces: You'll have to learn to use ADB or reset the phone. Depending upon your definition of delete, you may have to reflash 2.3.4.
 
Well i cheated, went in and changed the apps foler to apptt is system files got my phone stuck in a boot loop, had my father take it to the store (since he got it for me for xmas and i had already been in and they told me i rooted it and there was nothing they could do for me) he told them it wasnt working and my brand spankin new admire will b here in 2 busniess days :D.
 
haha nice! but I suggest looking into how to vids on YouTube for Adb. its a must have knowledge when working on Android and honestly very annoying to explain step by step when it really is simple.
 
is this the stock rom? if so can i utilize odin or something else to load it? please elaborate... i am working heavily on something awesome for us, and if this is the stock and better yet the rooted with removed bloatware rom then we are about to have greatness :)
 
I need help. I accidently remooved launcher.apk without having another launcher. My screen is all black and all i can do is lower notification bar. I put it in recovery mode and i think i reset it. Help plz
 
hahahaha thats exactly what happened to me.. ughmm but I never got it fixed.. only way is if we had Cwm. I ended up turning that phone in..

you can always try and push the launcher.apk and the odex file to /system/app using adb if you had usb debugging on.
 
I didnt bother explaining that. Cause the same mistake he made I made. and that was resetting the device from the stock recovery. all settings are back to normal meaning usb debugging is .. sadly not on:/ Yea bro I knowyou pain .. lets hope your still under the 1year warranty.

if it helps... my excuse at coorperate was "It was working fine all day, left it charging during the night and in the morning it was a black screen" lolz they guy didn't even bother looking at it and I had my new admire in hand in 3 days. all I pay was the $10 transaction fee...

yeah waiting 3 days sucks, but it saves you the extra $20.
