Samsung Camera sometimes doesn't take a picture

When I hit the shutter release button, I want to take a picture. Period.

But sometimes the camera app doesn't do it. Instead, it makes a 'bong' sound and briefly zooms or refocuses, and ... no picture. What's happening when it does this? (And more importantly, how do I get it to stop?)

You may have auto focus on.
Check your camera app settings

Thanks, but there doesn't appear to be an autofocus setting.

Done. But it didn't change anything.

Have you tried restarting/rebooting your phone?
