Help Samsung Captivate Chinese import help

I just got my new phone in the mail today but noticed a few things. There is no option for swype keyboard, nor is there any samsung apps/widgets. Theres no wallpapers or anything else. Im stuck with the Chinese input keyboard (which does have an english option)
It's currently running the 2.1 version of android. The accelerometer (or gyroscope/whatever the phone has) doesnt seem to do anything either E.G tilt phone on side but it still stays in portrait.

If someone could please help me with this i would greatly appreciate it :)

There's no such thing as a Chinese Captivate. Captivate is US only. To change keyboard, long press on an input field and wait for a option menu to appear. Then select "input method" and choose the keyboard you want to use.

As for the accelerator, the touchwize launcher does not have a landscape mode, meaning that your home menu will not go into landscape.

When i try to change the input method it only has 'Chinese keyboard' as the option. With the accelerometer it's not the homepage that i want to change (because i know it cant) but i can turn the screen when sending an sms to change it to landscape keyboard or when im in the camera app it wont rotate to the way im holding it. I tried playing a game that uses this but it said 'no accelerometer detected'? So i have absolutely no idea whats going on.

Thanks for the help :)
