Help Samsung Captivate in Reboot Loop (AT&T logo or battery)

JOL

Lurker
Hi all, I've been lurking on these forums and finally decided to post after a failed attempt to use odin (in order to flash Assonance). At the time I used odin, my phone was fully stock and was not rooted.

I turned on USB debugging on my captivate, put it into download mode, and pressed "start" on odin. All seems fine and dandy. However, the phone is now in a constant reboot loop - when unplugged, it goes to the white AT&T screen and then reboots. When plugged into the wall or the USB, it shows the battery charging screen and then reboots. I cannot get to the main OS screen.

I've tried the various methods described in how to get the phone back to download mode (the 2 and 3 button methods, as well as switching up the steps described) but have not yet had any success getting my phone out of the reboot loop and back into download mode.

Does anyone know what I can do to get my phone back to working condition? I've read on other sites that I may need to build a USB jig? Is this my only solution, or are there other methods that I have not yet thought of?

You can read through these threads for various button combos on how to get in Download Mode again:

The goal is to get into Download Mode again, so you can use Odin One-Click to JF6 and flash your phone back to a usable state. Once you're back up and running, you can try flashing a custom ROM again.

If none of the button combos end up working for you, then you will need a JIG to force your phone into Download Mode so you can flash with Odin.

Have a look here: http://androidforums.com/i7500-all-things-root/13692-how-odin-galexo-rom-s.html

However if you cant get it into recovery i'm not entirely sure, i thought there were some models of galaxy, notably the us ones that had the 3 button thing disable though i could be wrong.

The important this is getting it into recovery mode, if you cant get it into this mode then i'm not sure.

Do not download Odin, firmwares or possibly anything else from the link above. That thread on is a Samsung i7500 forum, not i9000.

And recovery mode also won't help you. You need to be in Download Mode.

Like I said, you'll need Odin One-Click to JF6 (which is a Captivate rom). If you haven't done so already, you will also need Captivate USB drivers.

Screen at & t appears and restarts again and again.
I can't enter in the download mode. I tried all the combinations of the 3 or 2 buttons and nothing.
You could find a solution? help please..

If you had looked into the XDA thread it must be clear by now. If none of the Button-combinations for getting into download mode works for you, plz make/buy USB Jig. It worked for me.
