Samsung confirms gingerbread for galaxy models

all indications are we get froyo, 2.3 i realistically wouldnt count on before late, late spring at the earliest officially....and thats if we even get it....until it comes ya just dont know
 
Yea, thats the way I am taking it. Sure we will get Gingerbread, In the mean time we are just going to skip Froyo so that we can work on getting you Gingerbread.....1 year later....... we will have Gingerbread soon I promise!!!!!! .Oh Samsung thanks for waiting till everyone else has it but us. You are too kind. LOL.

lets see the nexus s comes out the 16th....id say they have a rom on the 17th for the vibrant :o

c'mon 2.2....at least give us aosp by mid january :cool:
 
its nice to know that the galaxy s phones will get gingerbread. there should be no reason for us to wait to receive it since its arriving on the nexus s on the 16th. i know samsung wants people to choose its newest phone over the rest, but people wont buy the nexus s if they know the lack of support from samsung and the carriers on getting the updates out on a timely manner.

The nexus s will be updated and supported by Google not Samsung....so the Samsung update issues don't apply
 
ahh ic well thats good for people who want the nexus s. hopefully we can get froyo during that "late december" time frame they announced recently
 
I'm starting to regret getting this phone. I didn't expect that I would have to wait longer to get the same updates that other android phones get. I WANT FROYO AND I WANT IT NOW!!!! >:(

i understand your frustration...however as usual my question is, what is specifically that you want from froyo?

the usual answer is flash...and personally i feel its significantly overrated on a mobile device unless you have hacked hulu on it

I think the true answer is that ppl hear other ppl crying they want it so it makes them want it. And other phones have it so y dont I have it?
I could almost gaurentee that most of the people that are making it such a big deal do not know what the changes truely are....now trying not to trip as i get off my soapbox ;)

Me too if i knew it was this long of a wait I would have changed to the X withing the 30 days. I am just wanting a GPS fix and to take care of some lag issues ... O and true google with no additional launcher
