Help Samsung email client not updating

Since yesterday I haven't been receiving emails vis the normal samsung client and no matter how many times I refreshed and restarted the phone it still wouldn't work. I then removed the account and tried re-installing my details. Now whenever I choose the option to make the account a 'premium' and default for sending and receiving emails the phone says trying to retrieve info but nothing happens and it times out. If I don't select premium and default then it updates as normal but I have less options in the settings menu. Anyone else had this problem and if so ho did you fix it?
 
I give the same advice to everyone with email problems and it has been 100% successful so far.

Switch to K-9, it's free and a lot better than the standard email client.
 
akt4rgtr, are you by chance trying to link to a gmail or googlemail account in the email client? Yesterday my googlemail stopped syncing and after deleting the account in the email client I can't add it again. There's another thread about it here. My exchange account is still syncing fine.
