Samsung Epic 4G for Sprint announced..

Nobody knows yet, but I hope soon. I think they're still working on finalizing the device. My guess is August. They did say "before the end of summer". I guess that would be August, since September definitely is past summer. Unless of course they're wrong and need more time to get it out.

They should definitely try to get this out while 1gz speed phones are in their prime. Anytime after that may not be worth it.

but I'd rather them take a little bit longer and make sure they get a good build quality/do it right. I say deff by September should be good.

I'm thinking I'll buy the EVO and it'll be a sufficient filler until this baby comes out. Sell that EVO on the craigslists and BLAMMO, Epic win (see what i did there).

I laughed so hard when you guys were complaining about the 1500 battery, do you guys relize the device itself consumes 50% less battery than an Evo?

It's rated to have a better battery life than an iPhone 4 by design. Let me break it down cpu 65nm Snapdragon vs 45nm Hummingbird, TFT-LCD vs Super-Amoled, these two components right there are leaps and bounds better at saving battery if you don't believe me look at the comparison spec sheets.

Here is something else to consider:

Am I the only one that likes the sliding cover for the micro usb charger? On my Moment, its a thing that you have to pull out with your fingernail or whatever and its very hard for me to open sometimes.

I'm patiently waiting on more information. Especially a release date. I see sprints playbook was outed, but no epic release date.

Don't know about the Moment, but the one on the Galaxy S works fine, and is easily opened and closed. Anything that helps keeps dust away from heat-sensitive devices gets my vote.

I have a couple of Western Digital USB HDDs with rubber covers over their Mini-USB slots, and they are a bit of a pain to open/close. Not to mention that ultimately they will probably break off, as rubber is not particularly durable.

But covering any opening in such devices is still a generally good idea, in principle.

I'm hoping by the end of July!!!!! I don't want an EVO, I want a major processor in my phone, I hate lag.

lag? Evo has no lag. Mine doesn't. Only diff in the processors are one handles graphics better. That being the Epic. So it has the advantage there, but lag is not the correct word for the Evo. Might as well say it failed if it laged. How bad would that be with a slow big screen? Very annoying I'm sure.

I think he could possibly be talking about lag in 3d intensive games. If thats the case, the Evo will lag where the Epic 4G will not...
