Help Samsung Epic 4G SPD-D700 EXE Flash File

I have read quite a few Internet posts about a .EXE file that will flash the Samsung Epic 4G that use to be on the Samsung Support website. I cannot find this file there. I wonder if anyone knows how to get it directly from Samsung. I really don't want to use a possibly modified file from a third party link.

I don't care if it is the original Eclair or Froyo as long as the file comes directly from Samsung. Thanks in advance!
 
Are you referring to the file used to upgrade to EC05?

I downloaded this directly from Samsung's website when it was there (doesn't appear to be there anymore though). Not sure how well uploading it will work but work a shot I guess.

That file doesn't appear to do anything. It's only 68 KB. I wonder why Samsung would remove it from the Support Download website.
 
I got it and it fixed my phone. Thank you! I wish Samsung still had the file on their support website. You are a moderator here so I guess I can trust that you have not modified the file to do anything bad. I don't mean that in a bad way to you personally. You just can't be too careful these days.

I'll assure you that I haven't done anything to the file though. :)


Glad to hear your phone is fixed though! What happened to your phone??
 
I am not 100% sure. The battery died. I hooked up the charger and tried to turn it on and it wouldn't get pass the www.samsungmobile.com welcome screen. It wouldn't even go to recovery. All I could do was hold down #1 on the keyboard and power it on to DOWNLOAD MODE.
