Help samsung epic 4g volume button replacement

can this be fixed cheaply if it goes bad and shorts out or something? I know on an Evo 4G, the button is directly connected to the main board, so you can't fix the volume without replacing the couple hundred dollar board. Is this the same for the epic or can you buy the part separately to fix volume issues...and if so where would i purchase? Thanks!

Hi, unfortunately I don't know the correct answer, but I did move this thread to the Epic 4G forum so that current Epic owners that may know can see this thread.

How long have you had your phone? It should still be covered under the 1yr manufactuers warrenty?

oh shoot, i guess i just assumed. well i bought the phone from someone on ebay before all this happened. will the warranty carry over to me?

It should, its the manufacturers warranty isn't like something extra they would of purchased. I would take it to the sprint store :p

ugh...followup:

looks like the person lied in their ebay auction. Although samsung says the warranty will carry over, this phone clearly has damage from being dropped. I sent them the phone, but i'm just crossing my fingers. it'll prolly just be sent back with charges from their tech support.
