Help Samsung Fascinate Email Issues!

My husband and I each got a new Fascinate last week. While playing with it and trying to set it up, I watched as all of my Cox emails were deleated from the phone. To make matters worse, when I called Cox I was told they were no longer on the server! When hubby came home and we checked his phone, all the emails were gone from there too! I've been to Verizon, they blame it on Cox. Cox says it's Verizon. But where are the emails that should be saved on the server? Verizon advised that I forward all Cox emails to gmail. So far this is working......I think. But I can't check because still none are saved on the server. Any suggestions, ideas?

Hello everyone,
I just got the Facinate less than a week ago and went to the Verizon store since I've had the exact same issue. I would get e-mail notifications then I won't. They downloaded the actual Yahoo Mail app. to my phone and worked for about a minute. But I read something on here where someone when they opened their e-mail app. didn't hit the back button to close out, he hit the "home" key instead, this way it keeps the e-mail app. running. Don't close out your app. in the task killer or manager. Once I did this and made sure in my syncing that it was on for the e-mail and for the Background data I started getting all my e-mails!!! I hope this helps! I got a "smartphone" so I could do all of that stuff, and not getting e-mails is a big pain in the you know what.

I also forgot to add that you need to make sure you notification is on while you are in you e-mail app. press settings on the bottom buttons of your phone, and then settings when it pops up on the phone screen. Make sure that notifications is checked. I hope this helps fix all those pesky e-mail problems everyone has been having!

I wish I would have check this site before I bought my Fascinate last week, but who would have thunk there would be e-mail issues! I'm having e-mail sync issues the same as the rest of you. :(So sad about this. I'm going to return it tomorrow and go with something else.

Does anyone know if the Droid 2 is having this or any other major issues?

Droid 2 is excellent with email, whether you use gmail, yahoo, or any other app, they can all be routed through the integrated email program.

There's even a universal inbox, that has your text messages, and each account in separate "sub programs" once it loads.

I am so depressed from this phone right now. Between the lack of upates for the software and the email issue, I don't know what to say.

I have also been having these email issues with my Fascinate. Verizon has replaced the phone twice since purchased in November. Nothing seemed to work until I loaded Maildroid. All has been fine for three weeks now.

My email (Network Solutions and Mac Mail) were both working fine at first. Then the second day I had the phone, I realized that no emails were coming in, even if I went in and manually hit refresh. I checked all of the server settings, and it wasn't working, but I could send out test emails. I was so frustrated I wanted to just start over, so I went into the app settings and cleared all of the data and cache from the email app. When I started over with "manual setup" it worked. And even sent me alerts of incoming emails. But then I tried closing some of the open apps, I read somewhere it helps keep your batter alive, and I closed the email app. After that it stopped receiving new emails.

So bottom line, I'm going to try to never close the app. Or try downloading another mail app. That's the biggest downfall to the phone so far, but it's a pretty big deal. Any other droid recommendations if this doesn't get resolved?

I am on my second Fascinate in a week. I am also having problems that it will not consistently load my email. Verizon denies the problem, Samsung denies the problem. I am using yahoo mail app but it keeps reloading old deleted email. HELP!!

I've been having the same issue with emails not automatically arriving using the gmail app.

I just downloaded the newest update from verizon (...ea-28) and checked the "accounts and sync" settings of my phone. Auto-sync was turned off so i turned it back on and then on the same page under the gmail account i got an error for "Sync Contacts". I had gone through and deleted multiple contacts for the same people weeks ago (22 contacts to be specific) and the phone's error was there were too many deleted contacts. I had it delete them and now it's syncing with emails and automatically checking for new emails like it use to :)

I got the fascinate for my birthday last week. I am having the same problem. I had a blackberry and didn't have this problem. I am not getting my facebook notifications either unless i go in an manually refresh myself. I think it stinks and how can my blackberry be more convienent.

Verizon nor Samsung give a Crap about any of us...All they want is your money. Calls to CS are Useless because the people you talk to are reading out of a damn book and dont know the difference between Hardware and software. They basically dont know ANYTHING. I had all these problems, USB wouldnt mount, GPS STILL didnt work after Dl09 and I also could not send out emails and If it did it was 5 hours later! WTH? Also after I hung up the phone it would stay locked for about 3 minutes and not let me make any calls in theat time unless I rebooted the phone.....

So after fighting with Samsung and Verizon to no avail...I demanded a new phone be sent to my house because I know that DL05 would be the build it came with....Which is also the build that worked like a champ for me , except for the GPS lock, which I could care less for anyhow!

Guess what....NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER!!! Email works, I can mount the Phone with no problems and no lock ups after a phone call. Now My GPS does take 5 minutes to lock but that is ok by me! Anyway...If you want your phone to work half way decent I suggest going back to DL05 if you can....BTW I hear the Froyo that is coming out is loaded with even more bugs for you to argue about...I will be staying with this build....FOR GOOD!

did you update it to DL09...If so...you will get nowhere with verizon or samsung...i suggest you return the phone and get a new one under warranty.
and keep it at dl05

I started having this problem last Wednesday, however, I can get my gmail and hotmail but I cannot get any of my Outlook Enterprise emails. I have tried removing and adding the account but it still will not work. Is there an alternative to Samsung Social Hub I can use to access my webmail from Outlook.

Thanks for any advice.

OK I have been having email issues as well. What a tech from Samsung told me is to auto shut the phone off early in the AM that resets all the email accounts I have and since doing this I have no more issues.

How exactly does one go about "auto shutting off the phone in the AM"? My wife has been having an email issue since she received some kind of update yesterday and now she can't send or receive email. It just hangs there on the "loading conversations" screen.

At some time during the day - my Fascinate deletes all my emails.. read or unread :-( - I have it set to not sync, but I dont know what else to do.
