Thanks to numus's hard work. It'll be released on 2/4. This should make Moment development a lot easier and faster.

the source code to the update which was released to everybody mid January. You mean the same one most of us have had for 2 weeks now or so?
no crap.. your point?... but it still won't contain source for some of Samsung's proprietary drivers.
Only that this is no panacea for all the "2.X" dreams that keep getting floated around here (and giving people false hope, IMO).
... and that's what I mean- w/o the proprietary drivers, which we will not get, you have a Science experiment, NOT a complete phone. Remember how we all got on the case of that guy who was going "All y'all need to do is go download the 2.0 SDK, and you just have to put that on your phone?"Actually we have 2.1 running on the moment.. only problem is the rild file is giving xconst and his team a problem so no radio at this time...
You can't demand proprietary drivers to be released.. Those are not covered under any GPL and are confidential source by the manufacturer... the drivers are worthless in the end.. it is the control modules that actually take the driver raw data and utilize it for a function.. these control modules are what are open source... it is possible to modify the control module to utilize the driver in the 2.x build, but we need to know exactly how the driver file works inorder to modify it.. this is where hte problem comes into play (atleast from my understanding)...i saw a thread requesting the kernel source be released for CL14, the same as it was released for CJ05. it was appropriately titled, Attempting to get a copy of CL14 opensource code
they were successful in obtaining a release date, which is quite amazing given the vague dates (1H2010 for Android 2.1) and update statuses Samsung and Sprint have both provided.
i haven't seen a thread about demanding proprietary drivers be released?
Does anyone know what software the repair stores use to install this update? So far two days in a row I get the story that the software to install this update isn't working...I think I'm being bullshitted by this store
Thx for the info....I wonder why they can't get it to work.
