Help samsung +flash drive

I connect my samsung galaxy ace to my pc regularly with no problems but i cannot connect to a usb flash drive. I also cannot connect the phone to my tablet via tethering, wifi or bluetooth. What am i missing?

An OTG cable. Samsung made one a while back that I used with my Samsung Galaxy S2. Let me see if I can find that post for you and a link ti the product. I forget what they called it.

Yep, got one of those but still it won't recognise a usb connection.

Your device may not have usb otg capabilities. Google exact model to find out.

I connect my PC to the internet using usb tethering all the time so it must have the capability, it just won't connect to the tablet.

I'm thinking maybe the tablet doesn't have the capability to receive Internet via USB

I can connect and use a USB data stick without problems and whilst the tethering menu lists both USB and Bluetooth tethering, USB conectivity is not an option (faint print and can't be checked). Not sure how to connect via Bluetooth, might have to do it that way though until NBN is connected in a couple of weeks.

I'd like to go back to days of yore when life was simple: the days worst problem would perhaps be a blister on my finger from the rotary dial. Or worse still, a broken lead in my pencil...
